1997 was a transitional year for Elysium on 37th as it drifted away from the more conventional instrumental sounds found on its initial albums toward the more effect-laden textures and ambient approaches that defined this middle period.

'Metroscarletcrush' is a demo album from the tape archives that was based loosely on the Parisian Metro system, written and recorded in Church Hill in the Spring of '97. The material was never reworked, re-recorded and never released.

It is presented now in its raw, unmastered form from a new digital transfer made from the original analog cassette mix.
